Banking APIs in action: from steering through a crisis to managing cash at scale

An honest account of what real-time treasury looks like when the pressure is real.  

Three years ago at Treasury 360° Nordic in Malmö, a conversation between Jacob Koch and Veikko Koski led to a working relationship that has since spanned two companies — and two very different stories. 

In this session, Jacob — now Group Treasurer at Scan Global Logistics — traces that journey: from the original FinanceKey implementation at Better Energy, through the period when Better Energy first got into financial troubles and then entered bankruptcy proceedings and real-time cash visibility became operationally critical, to his current role, where API connections to core cash management banks were live within days. 

Jacob will speak plainly about what it felt like to run a treasury function through a financial distress scenario in Better Energy and , how real-time API-infrastructure actually helped in the crises situation, and what new opportunities real-time cash overview has opened in his new role that simply weren't on the table before. Veikko will be on hand to add context on the implementation side, moderating the session.
